Parking and check-in: if you check in after the skeleton crew has left the
building, you'll have to stop at another hotel, then let yourself in at Horstman
House. Parking was convenient, except when one of the cards didn't work, and no
one was available at the front desk for over an hour. Room: comfortable living
room, adequately stocked kitchenette, couch looked like it had been there since
the 1980's. The WiFi did not work in our 2nd floor unit, but there was a CAT5
cable to plug into. iPhone users - hike to the lobby to get a signal. Bathrooms:
spacious, clean, with minimal frills. Bedrooms: mattresses and pilllows were
very, very old. For a ski property, they should invest in world quality bedding,
since a good night's sleep is key for recharging.

Our room was nice and well kept and had all the essential amenities for our
weeks stay. The hotel had a heated outdoor pool and spa tub, with great views of
the mountains and forest. The large lobby area provides many activities for the
kids with a games room and TV media room and a large flat-screen TV and couches.
A large outdoor patio has a barbecue grill. The hotel also provides
mountain-bike and ski storage. Secure underground parking is complimentary which
is rare at Whistler

We are not used to bunk beds. Kept banging my head on the lower bunk. The upper
bunk bed does not have a guard rail. Should have twin beds in there. The master
bedroom and the apartment are lovely. Did not use much of the hotel facility.
The hotel looks very nice and quiet in a lovely area. Parking is free. Would
definitely use this hotel again.Guest Reviews of the Horstman House Whistler

Been there for the second time last January (from the 23rd to the 31st),
now with my wife, kid, sister, brother in law & 2 nieces in a 2 bedroom
unit. Everything just the same: quiet place in the upper village, good
neighborhood & 3 minutes drive from Blackcomb's base. Room still clean
and in good shape. Honest residence-like service. Just perfect for the
rate we've paid. Recommend again!

If you want a good budget place to stay @ Whistler, I recommend!!! The suite is
large, good room with king size bed, living room with sofa bed & full kitchen
(they have also units with 2 and 3 bedrooms). It is located in a quiet place
very close to Blackcomb's base. It is not actually a hotel. It is a residence
with some room service. Perfect if you don't mind staying in a place with no
restaurant. There is a good supermarket very close to the place where you can
buy everything you need. Late arrivers, be aware: the front desk closes @ 5:00
PM; after that you have to go to another hotel to check-in (carefully read the
instructions in the reservation letter).

We were very satisfied with the location of this hotel for snow skiing. The bus
picks up right outside the hotel and is only a few short stops to Blackcomb
mountain.
This hotel does not have a restaurant on site. The market village is nearby via
the bus route for groceries, etc. However, I recommend picking up extras in the
town called Squamish before you get to Whistler. This saves time and money.
There are many good restaurants in Whistler though if you don’t plan on cooking
in your suite. |
