Enjoyed my stay at the Edgewater. It was exceptionally quiet,
and the views, from the property, the Lodge dining room, and the
guest room were outstanding. Very comfortable beds. Interior
room surrounds are fairly basic. Food at the Lodge (breakfast is
included) is outstanding. No air conditioning, but they do
provide a fan, and most nights the temperatures in the Whistler
alpine environment chill down nicely for sleeping. Removed from
the Village, so if you want to be "int the action", it's not the
place for you. Rare for Whistler, parking is free -- a real
plus!

Delightful place to stay with great views over the lake. Lovely
restaurant for both dinner and breakfast, we had breakfast out
on the terrace basking in the sunshine. Nice to be away from the
hustle and bustle of the centre of Whistler and yet just a few
minutes drive if you want to get there.
Whilst we were there it was the 90th birthday of a lady who's
husband was part of the crew on the Dam Busters mission in WW 2,
we were very honoured to meet her.
We'd love to go back again.

From your giant bedroom window, you look out upon a lake with
snow capped mountains in the background. It's really amazing.
There's an eco tour place right there that rents kayaks for
going out on the lake. The food was top notch.

The Edgewater is in a beautiful location which is what attracted
us to it along with the excellent restaurant reviews.
We were disappointed to be advised at check-in that we had been
'bumped out' of the restaurant due to a subsequent booking being
received from a large party. A message had been sent home but
the first we knew of it was at check in as we had been
travelling. I am afraid I really struggle with this concept of
'bumping off' and am used to the British tradition of 'first
come first served'. We were given a room upgrade to a 'suite'
(just a small extra room with a sofa and a balcony - not much
use to us for a 1 night stay) and offered room service. The
latter offer was not taken up as there was no dining table in
the suite and full retaurant service was not offered only
'something off the BBQ'. We like a bottle of wine with our meal
so to have to drive several miles into Whistler to get a good
meal after a long day was somewhat annoying. When we were
checking in the man who dealt with us did say he would bring a
coffee to our room but after 25 minutes we gave up on that and
went out! There was no coffee in the room only a few teabags,
and no milk. There was, however, someone's leftover salad in the
fridge!
Breakfast was basic self service continental style but OK.

Stayed in one of the larger rooms & had both dinner and the
complimentary breakfast at their resto.
Everything was terrific - my only concern is beyond their
control, & that's whether construction near other areas of the
lakeshore is going to ruin the peace & quiet of this place.
If I had to pick a complaint, it wd be that the grounds workers
started making noise around 9am & that was a bit early for my
taste - but the grounds are lovely, so at least I felt like they
were doing a good job.

Rooms are basic (i.e. older with minor quirks) and amenities
limited but those aren't the main reasons for coming here. The
location is just a few minutes driving or biking from Whistler
and all the biking & hiking trails are easily accessible from
here also. We were seeking a quiet place close enough to
Whistler to access all the outdoor activities without being in
the busy hustle of Whistler itself. The location is charming and
views spectacular - on the edge of a lake and looking up at
towering snow-covered peaks in all directions. Best unexpected
surprise was the complementary breakfast. I didn't expect much
but it seems someone put alot of effort into home baking and it
showed. The dining room is quaint and very attractive with lots
of windows looking out to the lake.
Yes we would return here. Enjoy.

The Edgewater is a small stunning lakeside retreat in Whistler,
B.C. in the middle of beautiful, private, forest two miles North
of Whistler Village near Nicklaus North Golf Course, The
Edgewater has a ton of activities for the summer as well as the
usual winter skiing The lodge is a unique destination, while we
were there we never felt so relaxed as we just chilled in all
that mother nature had to offer. The amenities and rooms were
great and I will definitely book here again the next time the
stress levels of work call.

Our rooms at the Edgewater Lodge Whistler was comfortable and I
like the way they are decorated in a lodge style. We chose to
relax in our rooms after a long day of skiing. The hotel is
close to the River of Golden Dreams and the Nicklaus North Golf
Course. They had a horse drawn sleigh ride that we will be sure
to take next time we are here, it leaves from the lodge during
the winter.

We decided to stay one night in the Lodge, because of amazing location on the
lake shore and very quiet surrounding. But it is end of advantages of this
place.
The rooms remember the better time in the past and look like accommodation in
the forest camp.. Especially the bathrooms need the refurbishment.
The breakfast is simple and not attractively offered, although in the beautiful
room with stunning view on the lake. About dinner we cannot say anything, as the
restaurant was close in the evening.
Comparing with the prices offered by the decent hotels in the centre of Whistler
Village. |
