Hotel Review of the Four Seasons Hotel
Whistler
Apr 14, 2010
Just cancelled the 2010 trip that would have been the fifth year in a
row staying at the Four Seasons Whistler. They spent my money like it is
worth nothing, weren't up to date on lift ticket deals, completely
unwelcoming for my fifth booking in five years. I have stayed in two
bedroom suites every time, 5 to nine nights every time, spent over
$10,000 there every time. And no warm welcome, no recognition, nothing
but the sucking sound of grabbing every dollar I had. The concierge
always messed up Blackcomb kids when I knew and specifically asked for
Whistler kids every year. The ski concierge always sent us to the base
lodge or other rental than their own for our needs because all they
carry are one kind of boot.
The restaurant service is so slow and excruciatingly so with kids. I
could have owned a place by now with all the money I spent there.
Pool entry is cold, no towel help by pools ever, no rain cover ever by
pool and hot tubs ever and it rains a lot in the village (yet that means
snow in the alpine).
The location is such a waste. The shuttle is so slow. Waiting, in the
regular rain, is excruciating.
The rooms have the same old CRT TVs for the past four years. When will
they update them?
The common areas are beautiful to look at but not welcoming to relax and
stay.
The room furniture is also pretty to look at but not comfortable after a
full day of skiing and wanting to enjoy an evening.
The soaker tubs were nice but need updating.
The views are not worth the extra money. You end up viewing a road, a
bus area, a parking lot, a lot of other balconies. The restaurants don't
have any views either.
For all that money, I shouldn't have had one complaint. It is the best
ski area in North America and I can't find a good place to stay.

stayed in the four seasons whistler from 1-10 April. Had a very
enjoyable stay. Hotel is top. Rooms are nice and spacious. We stayed in
an executive suite, I would definitely recommend this for a stay with
children. The suit comes with a queen sofa bed that was very comfortable
for our 7 and 9 year old children. In the suite the bedroom is separated
from the living room with a door. So privacy for the parents. We had the
breakfast buffet every day and was perfect.
The hotel is really in walking distance from the Blackcomb ski lifts. It
only takes a 5 min walk to the ski concierge which is right at the the
lift. We all took ski school that started in Whistler village. Even this
is no problem, the hotel shuttle takes you there in 5 min. General
comment, surely no need to have a car! The ski concierge even has a
little stand at Whistler, so in teh afternoon you would ski down in
whistler, drop of the skis and take the shuttle back to the hotel.
fantastic!
The ski school is great. I took the Dave Murray and the extreme Canadian
freestyle clinics. both are very good. The Dave Murray one is three days
and is the best ski school I ever did. Kim was our ski pro and she was
outstanding. I would definitely recommend to everybody to do this
clinic. It goes from level 4-6.
We followed the advice of the concierge for dinner, never were
disappointed. One tip, all the locals say Rimrock is the best restaurant
in the area. Unfortunately we only heard this in the last couple of days
before we left and it was already fully booked.

From the moment you enter the hotel you realize why you stay in Four
Seasons Hotels. Excellent service, beyond luxury accommodations and
great food. We stayed for 3 nights, could have stayed much longer. Not
ski/ski out but feels like it with their "ski concierge"
service.....WOW, talk about service. Beautiful spa, fabulous breakfast
buffet, no complaints from me.

I've stayed at most hotels and condos at Whistler. Four Seasons was pure
luxury in terms of friendly staff, amazing food, great gym and free
killer yoga class, great design and comfort. My last stay was at
concierge level of Chateau and now it'll be tough to stay anywhere else
but Four Seasons. Only downside is you pay a high price for rooms. I'd
definitely recommend seeing the bar and eating there! We ordered from
the dining room menu but sat in bar area. Also check out their summer
bbq's.

I was fortunate to stay here for two nights with my wife and a group of
work colleagues and their partners on a work sponsored break.
The hotel is absolutely perfect with huge bathrooms, lovely gas fire and
spectacular views.
And then you have the resort and mountains as well! All too much to
capture adequately in these few sentences - so I won't!!
You will have a great time if you stay here.

There is no substitute for Four Seasons service. This place is great.
The Ski Valet service is fabulous and makes getting up on the mountain
so much easier/relaxing. Walking over in comfy shoes to find my
boot/board there is great....changing shoes to join my wife for lunch in
the village is great.
Pool/spa side drink service even in the winter was great. Paul's service
at the pool was great.

This is probably my favorite hotel - ever!! The customer service was fantastic &
the hotel is beautiful! My room had a fireplace and an outside balcony. I had a
huge closet and bathroom. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in
Whistler. It is an easy walk to the middle of Whistler.
