Hotel Review of the Delta Whistler Village Suites

We had the most wonderful 2 night stay in this Hotel. We had been upgraded to a
one bedroom suite by our travel company and the room was amazing. FULL kitchen,
including dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer - which is so much nicer
than having to find a laundry in town - large living area, and a fabulous
bedroom. We couldn't fault the Hotel or the wonderful service we received from
all the staff. Because we were on a very special holiday to us, the receptionist
waived the parking fee, which was so very kind. It was lovely to know the car
was safely parked underground, whilst we explored the whole village on foot. The
Hotel is near all the amenities but not above the more noisy eating areas, so we
had a good nights sleep. We were near the bus terminal, so could hear them
clearly, but it was nothing ear plugs couldn't sort out! I would highly
recommend staying here and if we ever get the opportunity to visit Whistler
again, we wouldn't even look at any other accommodation, it's the Delta for us!
Thanks for making this the highlight of our holiday with such a lovely room.

Spent 1 night here with my wife. We got the reservation via priceline. Check in
was fast and easy. We were in room 1611, with a split king bed. The room had no
desk area, but a two person kitchen table, mini-refrigerator, microwave. There
was also a small balcony that you could go out and sit in. $24 parking located
underground. The hotel is located right along the Village Stroll. The staff was
very friendly. Laura at the reception desk was very nice. She gave us a lot of
information about Village Stroll and the Peak2Peak Gondola. We had dinner
reservations at Rim Rock Cafe, and Laura told us to call the front desk 30
minutes before to schedule a complimentary shuttle ride to and from the hotel.
Justin was the shuttle driver who was very friendly and nice. The restaurant
called Justin to pick us up and he was promptly there waiting for us. There was
no free wifi or wired internet in the room. Luckily if you need free internet
you could go across the street to the Whistler Library. Would definitely stay
here again. This place would be great to stay here for when the ski season
starts. Will try to come back during ski season.

We stayed here for three nights as part of our tour of BC. We had been upgraded
(so don't know about room we were supposed to be in!). Our suite was amazing.
Large sitting and dining area with kitchen area at one end - fully equipped with
large fridge, microwave, sink etc also cunningly fitted behind a "cupboard" door
a full-size washing machine with tumble drier above. Also fitted in to the
kitchen was a dishwasher! Balcony overlooked Whistler library with good views
beyond; separate bathroom and toilet, and separate, large bedroom. Television
both in bedroom and living area. The ultimate in luxury and comfort. Staff were
pleasant and helpful - we were greeted outside on arrival in our car, and well
and efficiently treated at reception.
Our only gripes were the cost of parking the car - at $24 over twice the cost of
anywhere else in Canada - including Calgary, Vancouver and Victoria. However the
car was safe and secure in a secured-access underground car park. Also internet
was extra cost and not that cheap - but there was free internet (wifi) in one of
trhe coffee shops nearby!May 28, 2010
Stayed here for a week over the Easter period. We were given a standard hotel
type room that no doubt was reflective of the great rate we had paid.
Accordingly the hotel was very good value. It was easy walking distance to the
ski lifts and all the facilities in the town. The tea and coffee making
facilities were welcomed but the toaster proved problematic as it set off the
fire alarm when it was used on two occasions ( apologies to other guests but we
do get up late !). The staff were welcoming and happy to assist when required
despite the bedlam during the recent Olympics. I would certainly stay here
again.

Stayed at the Delta Whistler Village for 10 nights at the end of March on a
skiing holiday and found the hotel to be superb. The staff are brilliant and are
so helpful and friendly. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite and there were 3 of us
and it worked out fine. Great having the cooking area as it meant we could
prepare our own breakfast rather than have to eat out every morning. The hotel
is in a great location and only a 5/10 minute walk from the main centre - it
certainly was not a problem in terms of location to the lifts etc.. We would
definitely return (and recommend it to other people) so a big thank you to all
the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

I booked a 1 bedroom suite in Delta for a week for a business trip. As soon as I
arrived, the hidden spending started! $22 plus tax for the parking (they do not
tell you that free parking is available daily on the parking lots nearby), $13
for daily internet connection, for which I got charged twice for the first day
for some unknown reason.
I was quite pleased with the room they gave me... until the night!! I was in
building one and it is on the top of a night club! Loud music the whole night!!!
I did not complain the first night but the second I could not take it anymore
and asked to change rooms. They moved me to building 2 which was ok. But the
coffee machine and other appliances were not working!! And I got charged for the
cookies (in the so called welcome basket) I did not even eat!!!! Same for the
laundry powder!! 3 times? How many times do you think I do laundry in a
week???????Also, my room was cleaned only 2 times during the week...
So, overall, not a very nice experience! Only positive point: the location that
is incredible!!
Also don't go to the solarice spa, their prices are outrageous and they are not
very welcoming!! Instead, go to the Avello spa in the Westin hotel 5 min away!
Very good service!! I would recommend to stay in that hotel instead!

Stayed at the Suites for ten nights with family and friends. Our one bedroom
deluxe suite was kept immaculately clean throughout our stay and was well
equipped. Complimentary cleaning materials and tea/coffee were a valuable touch.
ALL staff in the hotel were friendly and attentive. Only a five minute walk to
the lifts but the free shuttle bus was a gem after a hard day skiing, as was
it's driver. The only drawback we experienced was the constant sound of melting
water outside our room dripping onto the metal roof below which frequently kept
us awake. However I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed for 10 days at the Delta with three children (13, 11 and 8) in a
two-bedroom suite. Very happy with accommodation and found level of service in
hotel high, very courteous staff (plus a special mention to Steve, the shuttle
bus driver - friendly and helpful, giving us a hand with kids and skiis each
day). The Delta is slightly away from the heart of the village, but we felt it
might get pretty noisy staying further in and the shuttle bus down to the slopes
was fantastic - we never seemed to have to wait more than a few minutes before
it arrived either end. I would class standard of accommodation high 3/4 * by UK
standards. Whistler itself truly lived up to expectations, and we'll be back -
and definitely staying at the Delta Suites. Oh, and if you go, do not miss out
on the Ziktrek tour - my children said it was one of the best things they'd ever
done!! |
