We booked via Whistler web site, and bought a 5 night free package. When
we arrived we also got the option to upgrade our studio to a deluxe room
- which cost us $20 extra per night. The total price per night for the
deluxe room came down to $147 (incl tax). Parking is pretty pricy - $17
per day ($85 for five days). We where happy to upgrade the room, which
then included a Jacuzzi for two (in the bedroom!!!), two tv's, comfy
bed, two washrooms (one with a tub/shower), a kitchenette and another
sofa/pull out bed. The room was clean and we had tons of space.
The only thing that was negative was the sound proofing of the windows -
or the lack of. Bring ear plugs! No noise from other rooms, but from
cars and people outside the hotel. We had a room facing Blackcomb, but
still very noisy.

The building is old and the rooms are a bit dated, so I wouldn't come to
the Mountainside for a romantic getaway or a business retreat, but for a
reasonably priced ski weekend it is excellent. Fully equipped kitchens,
DVD players and stereos make for a comfortable time when not riding the
slopes. Staff were friendly and courteous during the brief times we saw
them. Parking is expensive at $17 per night, but free wireless was nice.
Street noise is an issue for light sleepers, but I never leave home
without earplugs.

Great location, close to the slopes, and staff are friendly, BUT, very
noisy due to proximity to pubs. I was greatly disappointed with the
service. I found the room dirty and the iron had brown water in it which
stained one of my shirts. I contacted the front desk, but got a "ya so"
response. I was even more surprised when I got the same response from
management.

We didn't book ahead and tried our luck in Whistler arriving early in
the evening. Found rooms available in the Mountainside Lodge with a very
good deal on the Lofts! Great facilities in the room, lots of space,
nice bed. Would go back if in the area. Shame Whistler-village itself is
too much like Disneyland as the surroundings are amazing

My husband and I spent three nights at the Mountainside Lodge. The desk
staff were very friendly and offered a room upgrade upon check in. We
decided to not pay the extra money for the upgrade. We stayed in the
Studio room. The room was very clean. It had a nice kitchen with
everything needed to cook a meal. The queen bed pulled down from the
wall and was a lot more comfortable than I expected. As other reviews
have stated, there was some street noise at night. Overall, great value
for the room and perfect location to the ski lifts and village
restaurants. Would defiantly stay again.

First off, the location was fantastic - short walk to slopes and close
to everything in Whistler Village.
The staff were very friendly.
The accommodations were great. Everything was very clean, well
decorated, and spacious. Felt like home. I would highly recommend the
Mountainside Lodge to friends and family.

Had a good stay at mountainside lodge. we booked a loft room which had
the two levels!
Very cozy with the fireplace and the kitchen was great and spacious.
Predominately spent the day skiing - the sauna in the room was pretty
awesome but didn't really use it.
Must say loved the fact that it had a laundry - by the time we got to
whistler we didn't have many clean clothes left so that was really
helpful.
Ski storage available - albeit we had some trouble with our combination
lock for our ski locker and it wound up being broken/wrong combination
so that was a bit annoying but the staff resolved it quickly.
Overall had a good stay in whistler at this hotel

I booked this hotel through a travel agency for five nights (paid in
full) then extended one night directly with the hotel. No written nor
oral explanation on cancellation policy, we received a simple e-mail
explaining the one night extension and room features. When we arrived,
we realized that the room was on the ground floor, facing the busy road,
people looking into our room, thus no privacy. We requested to change
the room but the front desk staff said it would not be possible and
asked us to contact with Assistant Manager (we did by e-mail). We could
not sleep well as the road was very noisy (as other reviewers here
warned) After careful consideration, we decided not to extend our stay
on the last night (they are charging $469 for the night) and asked to
cancel the night. The General Manager of the hotel, initially he would
like to change the room, then when he heard that we wanted to cancel the
last night, he said very rudely that the night was non-refundable. I
contested as we never been told on the cancellation policy and never
paid the last night of the costs in advance. He insisted even they did
not inform, the customer must check the policy and no possibility of
cancel/refund. I contested further and he said that "I want to throw you
out from the hotel if I could find other rooms in the town" I lost words
and decided to raise this issue to the parent company of the hotel,
Shell Vacation Club. After several e-mail exchanges, the hotel accepted
to cancel the last night for no charge. I asked for a formal apology
from the General Manager, but no reply at all.
Positive side: the hotel is close to lifts, only 2-3 mm walk, the room
has Jacuzzi and sauna in the unit (though it did not function
perfectly), the hotel maintenance/cleanliness was OK. However, staff
attitude, particularly General Manager, was not acceptable. Overall, it
was not pleasant stay (we had a fire evacuation on the fourth morning !)
and I would not recommend.
