Hotel Review of the
Glacier's Reach Whistler
Jan 11, 2010
We stayed here in mid December and found the location more than suitable. The
Marketplace over the road has a great choice of shops, supermarket and drug
store as well as eating places, and walking distance to the main shopping areas.
Even better was the bus stop for the free ski shuttle just over the road too. It
was convenient and easy to stay here, and I suspect, quieter (and definitely
cheaper) than in the base area for the ski fields.
We had more than enough space for our family of 4 with an 18 & 20 year old. The
adults could escape upstairs to our own room or socialise with the kids, enjoy
the hot tub, cook in the kitchen or watch one of the 3 TV's. We did not really
notice noisy neighbours, only once when one had their hot tub running. The most
nuisance noise was from the snow removal trucks and machinery who started in the
parking lot across the road at 4.30 am!
Views out to the road and up the mountain were amazing, and the place was more
than warm enough. Plenty of resort amenities that we didn't use, but I can see
this would be a great place to stay year round.
We booked direct with owners who were easy to deal with.

Glaciers Reach condo's are ideally located next to the Market Place, and there
is a bus stop across the road which is serviced by the free village shuttle.
Village Gondola's are 10 mins walk or 5 mins on bus (via Blackcomb base)
I have stayed here twice, in 2 different 1 bed condo's, and I would have no
complaints about either. They are well furnished, clean, have all amenities and
I was lucky to get one with a private hot tub.

The Glacier Reach was in a good location. It was in close proximity to trails
for running and biking. Only a short walk away was the Village filled with shops
and restaurants. It also had free internet which was a plus. Parking sucked at
$12 a day, but I guess is average for most hotels and still seemed cheaper the
hotel next door. Would have been nice to have had maid service daily instead of
every 4 days. The bed was comfortable. Overall, I was happy with my stay for the
price.

thanks for a great vacation launching pad, trevor! we stayed in 103 and loved
that there is a common pool and hot tub, along with a private hot tub for each
unit. It was nice to have a second story "townhouse" unit, if nothing else than
for the privacy of the hot tub on the outdoor deck. We loved being able to walk
across the street to the Village Stroll and less than ten minutes walk to the
lifts with our 'boards.

This was a decent condo. Kind of tucked in the corner, large master bedroom, hot
tub on the deck. The condo's are pretty tight together though, so there is
little privacy on the deck. The pool was a little small, but is in keeping with
most pool sizes out here. The place was really clean. From what I read in the
guest book though, this could be a bit of a party place. The really nice part
about here is you are just on the edge of the Village, so you are not sitting
overtop of the noise right in the Village. You are super close to groceries,
liquor, etc. Lots of very young families here.
Would have loved to have golfed here, as it is first class, but just didn't have
the time.

Glacier's Reach Whistler

I wanted to write a review, since I am actually going back the first week of Aug
this year 2009. Glacier's reach is a wonderful place to stay I booked our trip
through Allure Hotels, Trevor the owner is so helpful and makes you want to come
back.
In 2006 I came up with a group of friends in the summer, I was impressed with
the location of the town home, along with the convenient underground parking. If
I remember correctly we had a few issues when we first arrived to use the
parking but it wasn't difficult to figure out.
The in room, washer and dryer are wonderful and so convenient when you are
getting dirty everyday and can do laundry before going home. We had a two
bedroom unit with a pull out couch it slept everyone very comfortably and so
much room in the place we could have slept on the floor.
There is a shopping center right across the street, include a liquor store, and
the post office. We bought our breakfast and used the supplied utensils, pots,
pans to make breakfast each morning. I do suggest getting settled in the unit
and taking inventory because there may be some condiments left over that you can
use without buying more at the store. We did that and left what ever condiments
we didn't use for the next guest.
We used the pool, it was just the right size and was nice to take a dip after
riding mountain bikes all day. Usually from the pool, we went straight to our
private hot tub, and we would sit and enjoy the privacy.
I highly recommend this place to anyone, singles, friends, couples or families.
It really is suitable for everyone. Have a great time!

This is a really nice apartment. We booked this through allure hotels with no
hassle. The unit is extensively equipped, all round. Split on three levels, with
the private hot tub on the top floor. Lovely decor throughout and very clean.
Had some problems configuring the wireless but apart from that, this was a very
enjoyable stay.
Location is excellent as it's walking distance to the village and slopes, and
also has a shuttle stop opposite the front door. Although we had our own vehicle
and made use of the free parking.
I would stay here again. It worked out quite expensive as we were there for 14
nights and were only two of us. This place can comfortably fit fout people. |
