Hotel Review of the Delta Whistler Village Suites

The suites are not that big but clean and fresh. There is a pool for the
kids. The hotel suites are on a wonderful location in the middle of the
town. If you don't like many tourists Whistler will not be your number
One. A lot of shops, stores, restaurants and pubs. The suites have their
own fully equipped kitchen. Ask for a room with a mountain view

We booked a 2 bedroom suite and it was amazing - very spacious with a
large living area, well equipped kitchen and 2 bathrooms (which we
hadn't expected)! Location fantastic - in the centre of everything. Good
pool, very helpful concierge and staff and we could even book canoeing
and hire bikes from Eco Tours within the hotel. Cannot fault a thing!

We recently stayed here for 3 nights with our 2 cats (first ever
vacation for them) and most everything was great. We called before we
left Vancouver to make sure our room would be ready as I did not want to
leave the cats in the car while waiting for our room. The front desk was
able to confirm the room would be ready when we arrived and it was!
Check in was easy and Mark was very helpful with the luggage. The
parking is expensive (everywhere in Whistler is) but was easy to get in
and out of. We were able to store our bikes in the shop but it was full
the whole time we were there. However there was always someone to help
us get them out.
We had a 1 bedroom suite which was pet friendly on the 5th floor
overlooking the village. Room was a bit worn, the carpet needed
replacing, but I figured being in a pet friendly room it would be more
worn than usual. The only noise complaints were the loud people walking
home from the bars at 2am but overall the room was quiet. Used the pool
once and it was fine, fairly large for Whistler.
We had free highspeed wireless which worked well. The full kitchen was
nice to have and was stocked with all the dishes etc that you would
need. We ate breakfast in every morning and cooked one dinner. The bed
and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was split into 2 rooms, one
with the tub/shower and the other with the sink and toilet.
The staff were all great and we would not hesitate to stay here again.
In fact we are already booked for October so we can be there for the
Turkey Sale.

The title says it all. When planning our west coast vacation I added
this stop in Whistler for one night instead of staying in Vancouver
after our flight arrived. My only disappointment was that we only stayed
one night. This was our first stop and it set the bar high for the rest
of our vacation. The staff were friendly and excellent.
We had the deluxe two bedroom suite which was reasonably priced and had
plenty of room for five of us. The suite was actually two rooms. There
were kitchen facilities if you wanted to do your own cooking and there
were 3 flat screen TV's and a fireplace. The location of this hotel was
very good and we had a nice view of the mountains from our spacious
balcony. This hotel was within walking distance of everything in
Whistler Village.
We arrived before the stated check in time and by the time I parked my
car in the parking garage they had our suite ready for us. The only
issue I had was with the wireless internet connection which was
difficult to connect to.
I would definitely return here again when visiting Whistler and would
have no problem recommending this to my friends.

I have been in the travel industry for 12 years and travel 6 - 12 times
per year. I always request an early check in. I did so in this case as I
have three children under the age of 7. I called the hotel at 2pm to see
if we could indeed check in early as our drive was much shorter than
normal. The front desk said no problem they would let housekeeping know
and to give it at least half an hour.
An hour later we checked in or rather tried to. The front desk said our
room would not be ready until 4pm. I explained that I had called ahead
and they told me that it was too bad check in time was 4pm. At that
point I was cranky and let my three children loose in the lobby.
Amazingly our room was ready in 10 minutes.
Then there was a problem with our credit card. The front desk staff was
so rude I was so disappointed as I did not want to start my vacation
this way. We brushed off our rude start off and headed to the pool. The
pool is in major need of an overhaul. Tiles are missing from the
entrance of the pool as well as the hot tubs are in a sad condition.
The room was fine - exactly what you would expect in a standard one
bedroom unit. There was no DVD player which surprised us although it was
not advertised so I can't fault the hotel for that. We were supposed to
receive kids packs upon check in. We called down the second day as we
had not received these. The front desk agent had no idea what we were
talking about. I told her to go to the website and familiarize herself
with it in a nice way. 20 minutes later the kids packs were delivered.
Room cleanliness - our maid forgot to vacuum in our room both days, the
second day she came back after we were in the middle of dinner to
vacuum. At that point we told her not to worry about it.
The staff at the Bell desk was amazing, helpful and genuine.
Unfortunately the front desk is another story. Would we stay here again
- Nope not us. We venture upto Whistler every year with the family and
have stayed at the Fairmont, the Pan Pacific, the Crystal Village and
the Pan Pacific Mountainside. The higher end places are worth spending
the extra money.

Busy hotel in the center of the village within walking distance to
everything. Our two bedroom suite with mountain view is quiet, clean and
cozy. But the air-conditioning in my room is really noisy. Good value in
pricy Whistler.

Our suite We stayed here for three nights as part of our tour of BC. We
had been upgraded (so don't know about room we were supposed to be in!).
Our suite was amazing. Large sitting and dining area with kitchen area
at one end - fully equipped with large fridge, microwave, sink etc also
cunningly fitted behind a "cupboard" door a full-size washing machine
with tumble drier above. Also fitted in to the kitchen was a dishwasher!
Balcony overlooked Whistler library with good views beyond; separate
bathroom and toilet, and separate, large bedroom. Television both in
bedroom and living area. The ultimate in luxury and comfort. Staff were
pleasant and helpful - we were greeted outside on arrival in our car,
and well and efficiently treated at reception.
Our only gripes were the cost of parking the car - at $24 over twice the
cost of anywhere else in Canada - including Calgary, Vancouver and
Victoria. However the car was safe and secure in a secured-access
underground car park. Also internet was extra cost and not that cheap -
but there was free internet (wifi) in one of trhe coffee shops nearby! |
