Hotel Review of the Crystal Lodge Hotel Whistler

The Crystal's biggest selling feature is it's stellar location right smack in
the heart of Whistler Village -- it's a better location than other well-situated
hotels I've stayed at in Whistler Village. From the doors of the hotel it's
literally a 3-minute walk to the main gondolas/chairs at the base of Whistler
and Blackcomb mountains. You're also instantly surrounded by the village's best
restaurants and shopping the minute you set foot outside.
I was really pleased with the top-notch service; the staff were great. The
rooms, though a bit small, featured stylish decor and were extremely clean and
well-maintained with modern, functional furnishings. Pool facilities were
nothing to write home about, but were decent. The additional $20 vehicle parking
charge is a drawback, but such is the case at all Whistler hotels as far as I
know. Top marks overall.

The room was quite spacious and bathroom was very clean. There was a kitchenette
which was handy and the bed was spacious and comfortable.

We were only in Whistler for one night after having visited the town before.
This hotel is right in the centre and one cannot fault it in any way - well
maybe one, having to pay $20 for overnight parking.
We were upgraded to a superior room as we were a Trailfinder's customer, and the
room was enormous and so well equipped with first class fitments. The balcony
was great for us to sit and enjoy a glass of wine on as we were at the back of
the hotel.
The staff were great and so helpful and check-in was quick and easy. The hotel
was really quiet, something I love as a light sleeper, and did not hear a thing
all night.
A great hotel fully recommended.

We just got back from a fantastic stay at the Crystal in Whistler. This was our
second stay at this hotel, and I highly recommend it to everyone. The location
is fantastic, right in the heart of the village, with breathtaking views. We
have also stayed at the Crystal in ski season, and the proximity to the gondola
is second to none! The staff was so helpful with our ski equipment, and storage.
There was complimentary ski valet which was even closer, and so convenient.
During both of our stays here, we found the staff very welcoming and friendly.
The rooms were very clean, and very comfortable. I highly recommend the loft
suites. My children loved having their own king size bed in a loft, and own
bathroom. The living area with fireplace was wonderful and relaxing at the end
of a busy day. The room was very large with tons of closet space to put
everything away, making it very comfortable. The beds were deluxe and very
inviting, as good as home.
My family also enjoyed the pool and hot tub very much. This hotel is great for
couples or families. Any time of the year, you can't beat the location of this
hotel. During the 2010 Olympics I saw on T.V. that CTV were brodcasting right in
front of this hotel. That means something to me....it is a gold medal hotel!!!!

We stayed here in a short trip to Whistler. The hotel cannot be in a better
location. Just steps from the main area for sky and other activities and in the
middle of the Village. the hotel has all the things you will expect on a resort.
The room was a little bit small for my taste, but I was not going to spend too
much time there. there are two nice restaurants, a Coffee Shop and many stores.
It is close to several other restaurants. My only complaint is that they charge
you for everything extra (Parking, Internet, Extra-bed, etc.). I would prefer to
have one fare and include everything...

The lobby, staff and location of the Crystal were all great. Located right in
the village, and within a few steps to the gondola you can't really get a better
location.
I have stayed at a number of places in Whistler, and compared to the rest, the
room we stayed in was quite small, the bathroom looked like it hadn't been
updated since the 80's and the TV in the room was an old non-flat screen -
haven't seen one of these for years. That said - the cost of the room was very
reasonable, so in terms of value I can't really complain. In the future I might
pay a little more to get a slightly upgraded room at other hotels close by.
If you do stay here - check out Rick's Grill located near the lobby - they have
good steaks.

We chose Crystal Lodge because of it's location, comparable cost and amenities
against other hotels in Whistler and it's 'wildcard room' offer to be given the
best rate rooms available from entire inventory of the hotel. In the event we
were not offered an upgrade even though to our knowledge there were suites
available. When taken up with reception such availability was denied. Eventually
we were given what I believe was a traditional king bed room which was clean and
well presented but had a very small bathroom in need to some redecoration or
modernisation. Whilst the stay at Crystal Lodge was pleasant enough, there are a
lot of steps between lifts and rooms though, I left with the feeling that I had
been duped into staying there by the 'wildcard offer' when in fact I might have
got better value elsewhere.

Stayed at the Crystal for 2 weeks on a skiing holiday. It was our 6th visit to
Whistler but our first visit to the Crystal Lodge. Generally a good experience,
reasonable value for money, clean and comfortable and certainly good staff. Only
1 issue, the lifts (of which there are too few) regularly broke down and stairs
are not an option through the hotel so long waits for the next available lift
could be quite frustrating. Other than that a hotel we would use again. Look
forward to our 2011 trip (had to go to Lake Louise for 2010 due to Olympics -
but not as good as Whistler!) The swimming pool area needs updating but the
restaurants within the hotel were very good quality.

Normally I go to Whistler and stay at a friend's cabin. In August 2009, I went
with two of my girlfriends and our plan was just to walk around the village and
enjoy the nightlife. Crystal Lodge was perfect for this. It is right in the
centre of all the clubs. The club I always recommend is Maxx Fish - it's always
a good time and it's the cleanest out of the clubs in Whistler. Tommy Africa's
is probably my second choice but I've heard good things about Savage Beagle.
Anyway, we mostly just stayed at Crystal just to sleep. We stayed two nights and
had no problems. Parking cost was about $40 for two nights, which we didn't mind
paying. We paid about $80 a person for 2 nights. We didn't mind this at all
either. It made going home after a tiring night of dancing very easy.
The room was clean and comfortable. I don't have high expectations but I thought
it was fine. Location is great as it is right in the middle of the village.
I definitely recommend this hotel if you're planning to go out and want a short
and easy trip back to your room.
