Hotel Review of the
Alpenglow Lodge at Whistler

I came to ski; it served the purpose well enough. Center of town with only about
5 minute walk to the lifts. Comfortable bed, nice HD TV, amenities such as
weight room and pool. Kitchen not so useful, but plenty of good and casual
restaurants close byHotel Review of the

I was looking for a room with at least two beds in it (one could be sofa bed
pullout), and the one I saw available was a Deluxe Studio Condo. The description
of the room said it either had (1) one queen sofa bed with a queen Murphy bed,
or (2) one queen sofa bed with bunk beds. I was fine with either of these
setups, but when I checked in, the studio they put us in only had one queen bed.
The front desk person then said all of the studios only have one queen bed, and
that the website description was wrong. They ended up upgrading us to a one
bedroom (with two beds), after a long process of the front desk person calling
the manager at home, and then me having to negotiate with the manager the next
morning on why I shouldn't have to pay an upgrade fee. An additional complaint
is that the machine that codes the key cards broke, and we were not able to
leave the room after the front desk person let us in with the master key.
Overall though, aside from the rough check in process, the positives are that the
one bedroom was clean and spacious, the location is great, and the front desk
person was very friendly and helpful.

Our room was next to the elevator, which made some horrible noise due to some
mechanical problem. Very small room, when the Murphy bed was open you couldn't
walk past is, had to step over. Front desk closed most of the time, front door
access didn't work most of the time.

Large HD flat screen in room; very comfortable bed with down beddings; decent
cost. Kitchen right next to bed; charged extra for internet. I came to hike; it
served the purpose well enough. Center of town with only about 5 minute walk to
the lifts. Comfortable bed, nice HD TV, amenities such as weight room and pool.
Kitchen not so useful, but plenty of good and casual restaurants close by.

I think we were lucky to get one of the best rooms at the Alpenglow Lodge as we had a separate bedroom,
balcony with a fantastic view & jetted tub but didnīt pay extra for this. It was
excellent value for money, the room was small but clean, fairly recently
refurbished & had a kitchenette complete with dishwasher, microwave, fridge &
cooker with oven. Alpenglow Lodge Facilities included a gym & outdoor heated swimming pool, coin
operated laundry room, & underground car park.
The Alpenglow Lodge was located near all the best restaurants / take aways, & was just two
minutes walk from a large supermarket & the shuttle bus to the slopes. It was
also within walking distance of Whistler village.
The only negatives were that the check in was at a separate location the other
side of town. House keeping is not included, you have to pay extra if you want
this service.
We had a great holiday - I definitely recommend this accommodation, it was much
better than expected for the money we paid.
