Review of the Red Lion Inn Victoria
Oct 10, 2010
This place was not easy to find. In fact, we were stopped by another couple and
asked if we knew the way to the motel! It is also some way from the centre,
probably a good 15-20 minutes by bus. The interior of this place starts well -
the lobby is bright and well decorated and the staff were friendly and
welcoming. However, our good first impressions were not transferred to the
rooms. The air-con in our first room was so loud (even when off) that we asked
to change rooms. Despite some reluctance, we were moved down a floor into the
basement level and so acquire a fairly dark room. We were only in Victoria for
one night and so happy to put up with some of the quirks of this establishment
but if we had been staying longer I may have invested in some more quality
options.

We stay at the Red Lion Inn several times every year. Since the fire and the
following restoration the place is super clean. The suites are fantastic. Yes,
there is some noise coming from .the outside of the Hotel, but not all the time.
Super fast WIVI. Also upon arrival they do not run outside, help you with your
luggage and park your car. We are 100% satisfied.

Our stay at the Red Lion was ok. The room rate was decent, for the Victoria
area. The room had dirt on the doors, dust caked chrome in the bathroom, and
dirty finger smudged light switches.
Our oven had gunk on it...so basically, I had to clean up the room, before I
could settle in.
The beds were clean, and the rest of the room was decent. Pool was clean and in
good repair... my teen was really glad to have the pool.
The staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay.
I did mention the room condition to the staff, and disputed our $15.00 nightly
pet fee due to me having to clean up the room, but was charged anyway.
You might need to cover your children's eyes...however......
There was young lady who I'm pretty sure, was a hooker, by the butt cheeks
visibly hanging 1/2 out of her slinky see through outfit, dressed in her serious
stillettos, didn't have to pay $15.00 a night, for her "pets".
