Guest Review of the Best Western Plus Carlton Plaza Victoria BC

If you ever want to stay at a hotel in Victoria I highly recommend the BWP
Carlton Plaza Hotel, it felt like we where staying at a five star hotel,
excellent service, clean room, our valet parking was excellent. The hotel was
very clean, close to all attractions, walking back and forth from our outings
were safe day and night.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in July, 2011. We came to Victoria as
part of a trip to Washington state and British Columbia. We arrived on Canada
Day (July 1), and, although we were early for check-in, the front desk staff
checked our bags and let us valet-park the car (Free!) so that we could explore
the city and the festivities. (Victoria is a lovely city, by the way.). They
also found us a currency exchange that was open on the holiday.
Our room was a studio suite on the 5th floor. It was a corner room, with windows
in three directions, offering great views of the city. It was quite spacious and
included a mini-kitchen and a seating area, separate from the bed area.
The hotel also has some bicycles, free for guest use, which is a nice touch.
There is a fitness center, but no pool, if that is an important point for you.
I mentioned the friendly staff in the review title. Everyone at the hotel was
cheerful and helpful, from the front desk, to housekeeping to the valet service.
I couldn't have been more pleased with our stay.

We arrive to a most courteous and accommodating staff. We were able to check in
within minutes of arriving. Our car was valet parked, and for the next three
days, we were so conveniently located, we never need our car until we checked
out. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet, and at a very
reasonable rate for downtown Victoria. We would not hesitate to stay again on
our return trips to Victoria.

My wife and I have stayed at the Carlton Plaza (the "CP") 3 times since 2010. We
are in our mid thirties and travel extensively for both work and vacation.
Overall we found the CP to be clean, quiet and staffed by well trained
employees. Most impressive, however, was the politeness and responsiveness of
the front desk staff; their approach rivals that of some of the top hotels we
have stayed at in the great cites of Europe.
We feel that the CP is excellent value. There is probably a less expensive hotel
further out, but the central location, super clean rooms, quiet sleep
environment and most importantly the friendly and attentive approach of the
staff make staying here again a no brainer.

The Carlton Plaza was a blessing in Victoria. The location of the hotel is quick
an easy walk to the Inner Harbour as well as many other things in town. The
hotel staff made us feel right at home. They offer free valet parking for those
that have a car (we didn't, but next time if we do we will stay here for that
option). We got a great deal on a room with two queens through the Victoria
Clipper in our Clipper Package. The room was very cozy, with a nice 37 inch flat
screen tv in the room. The bathroom had the soap, shampoo, and conditioner in a
dispenser underneath the shower. We had a pleasant stay and will stay here
again.

We were looking for a reasonably priced hotel near the downtown area of the
city, so we could enjoy the city without having to stay in higher priced
accommodation. This hotel turned out to be a good choice as it is close to areas
like Trounce Alley and other popular shopping areas. Good restaurants are close
and it is only a couple of blocks to the water and the beauty of the inner
harbour area. The hotel is in an older building but appears renovated and fresh.
Our room was very nice, lots of space, some view over the city and very
comfortable bed. The staff were very friendly and more than helpful in all
respects. There is no restaurant in the hotel but good places are close and when
we inquired, we were given a voucher for a continental breakfast at one of the
local spots. One of the things we really liked was the free valet parking which
was prompt and well run. Wireless internet in our room had excellent signal, so
worked great. All in all, a good place to stay and we'd go there again.

We recently stayed for two nights at Best Western's Carlton Plaza Hotel in
Victoria, B.C. and cannot say enough about how pleased we were. The hotel is
perfectly located, the service was exemplary; that is all the staff that we
dealt with were most helpful, cheerful and efficient. The rooms are pleasant
with attention to detail and the beds, sheets and pillows were most comfortable
and we particularly appreciated the valet parking. We will definitely stay at
this hotel again.

Exceptionally clean, staff are friendly, parking a breeze. Made to feel welcome
and so pleased at the cleanliness. Excellent location to walk to many great
restaurants and easy cabs home after nightlife anywhere in the city. Highly
recommend this hotel.
