Review of the Queen Victoria Hotel
August 31, 2011
We had a wonderful one night stay at the Queen Victoria. The location was perfect - walking distance to many of the tourist attractions including the beautiful inner harbour, parliament buildings and downtown. It was very clean and very quiet, although because we faced a busy street, we did have to close our patio door for sleeping. The beds and pillows were very nice and comfortable. The one drawback may be that there is no air conditioning (which is why we had our patio door open) and we had to use the fan that was provided in our room.

Stayed there with my sisters in the end of July 2011 - we found a fantastic nightly rate of $119 through here - great deal considering the time of year and the location of the hotel. The hotel is located a block away from the Parliament Buildings, and walking distance to shopping and restaurants. The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating as well. The only downside is there was no AC in our room, but there was a fan supplied, so using that and having the patio door cracked open a bit made for a very comfortable night's sleep. We will certainly return here given we can get a similar rate $ next time.

We stayed here for two nights at the start of our Canadian holiday. The hotel is in a terrific location, just moments away from the harbour, Parliament building and downtown. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast menu had lots to choose from and was very tasty. While the decor may not be of the latest design, the room was comfortable and the fan provided was very helpful, as there's no AC. Our room faced the side and wasn't particularly noisy: in a seaside town, you get used to seagulls!
All in all a good first experience in Canada.

This is a hotel with a great location; BC Legislature, Museum, Fairmont Hotel, the Harbour, the port, Fisherman's wharf; downtown business district. Room is clean, and spacious and has a balcony for that fresh pacific ocean air breeze. Hotel also has fitness room and has a restaurant in the lobby (Samuel's) which serves great breakfast.

Only downside I see is their parking lot. It's like driving a pedal bike in your living room - it's quite a challenge for the inexperienced.

We found this hotel to be very nice and in a great location. The lobby looks terrific. The staff was friendly and efficient, making check in and check out easy. The room was clean, nicely decorated, and big enough. It had comfortable beds but my pillow was a bit harder than I like, no big deal. The only thing was the sound of the buses when the sliding door was open. Parking could be tight for a big vehicle but we parked in an overflow parking lot next door and it was fine. Fantastic location for visiting Victoria.
