Hotel Review of the Laurel Point Inn Victoria

Stayed in Erickson Wing with outer harbor view. One of
nicest hotel rooms ever. The view was amazing - constant
activity in harbor. We had trouble leaving the room as
we were so entertained with all the constant activity of
float planes, ships, boats, etc right outside the large
outdoor deck of room. All staff so friendly and helpful!
Loved this place!! Truly hated to leave. Will go back!!

it's the second time we've stayed and we'll be back. The
newer wing has some of the best rooms in North America
and a location that can't be beat. You can go to
downtown Victoria or if you want a more local feel St.
James Bay is around the corner. Tomas who is one of the
managers is great at making sure your experience is a
good one. Can't wait to go again.

Great location, easy to stroll from here into Victoria,
but good to be away from the centre of town. Standard
room was clean and comfortable, with a lovely view
across the water. What a pity the sink in the bathroom
was badly cracked, and the sink plug let the water out.

This might sound petty, but in which antique store did
this hotel find it's television sets??!! Really, my
husband recognized the same 19" Sony Trinitron that he
owned 25+ years ago. I know that our room was in the old
section of the hotel, and it seemed moderately updated,
yet the cost of flat screens are very reasonable, and
considering that the rate is 2011, I would expect the
electronics to be of at least this century!
Don't expect your room to look like the pictures on the
website... Perhaps because we were traveling with our
pet, we were placed in that section. The pet fee of $50
provides a cushion, bowls, one poop bag and a few dog
biscuits. On the plus side, it's a great place to walk
with your dog. I'd recommend room 104 at the end of the
hall, with direct access to outside if you have your
four legged friend with you.
Be ready for harbour traffic noises - seaplanes, the
Coho ferry blast and various and sundry if you are a
light sleeper and are hoping for a sleep in!

It was a romantic getaway for me and my wife for her
bday. Enjoyed our stay in Victoria all in all. Having a
nice place to stay in just made it better. |
