Guest Review of the Brentwood Bay Lodge & Spa in Victoria BC

We first stayed at the Brentwood Bay as a second centre to Tofino on a first trip to Vancouver Island in 2006. It was so good we left Tofino early to have an extra last night there before returning to Calgary. It's a small venue with maybe 25 rooms on two levels. Having now been there three times, I can say the rooms are identical, which means no nasty surprises. The ground level rooms open onto the garden where herbs and veg are grown which provide nice perfumes. We've always stayed on the upper level. The rooms are somewhat "boutique like" with comfortable beds and pilows and well appointed bathrooms. They actually have shutters next to the bath so you can open these and watch TV or see out to the wonderful views of the bay from the bath if you're so inclined. The restaurant serves great food and the staff friendly and attentive. It gets busy on weekends with locals, so worth reserving a table. We went back again in 2008 and the hotel was catering to visitors from the boats moored below, which meant the pool became a bit crowded a couple of times. But it's one of our favorites and time for another visit.

I want to start by saying that I don't disagree with any of the glowing reviews, it IS a nice place. But I do find it odd that almost everyone on here ONLY says good things.

The hotel is great and the rooms are filled with amazing amenities. Overall we had a great time. However, I think that I expected someplace more secluded. After reading other reviews once we got here, I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had been prepared.

This hotel is on a bay and there are lots of nearby homes and a few restaurants. We spent more time in Victoria than I thought we would, so might choose that for a future visit.

But the room was amazing - a great fireplace, huge jacuzzi and really great private deck. Also, the best and most comfortable hotel robes.

Only other recommendation - don't eat all your meals here. It's fine for a few meals, but it's a little overpriced and not great food. Would recommend Zanzibar, nearby, for a cute lunch.

Unfortunately we only had one night at Brentwood Bay - this is a lovely hotel. The rooms are modern and have been designed extremely well. It has a relaxed atmosphere whilst maintaining extremely high standards. We even had a fabulous view of the bay from our jacuzzi bath! The restaurant was fantastic too - great service and both the fish and steak were amazing.

My wife and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary here and our now planning our 41st after a couple of unforgettable days & nights at the resort. From the room to dinner on the patio, overlooking the bay, everything was perfect.
