This motel is not in the city centre but it's on the main road coming in from the north and it's a short drive into the city. There is a huge shopping centre across the road and a number of restaurant and fast food outlets nearby. The staff were very helpful. Our adaptor which allowed us to use our Australian battery chargers and laptop had shorted out, but we were given clear directions to 2 nearby electrical stores and were able to replace it easily. The room was quiet and comfortable and free off street parking is always a bonus in a city.

Coming for two days visit in Victoria we looked for reasonable accommodation. With so high priced alternatives, this motel seems quite good, and had good reviews. We booked for a "suite" which is 2-room living space. Very basic, but we enjoyed the kitchenette, allowing us to save on food, and prepare our own meals. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool (small, but cosy). Overall - not bad for the money we spent. One comment - if you happen to visit in the peak of the summer heat wave, look for an hotel with air-condition (NOT available in Blue Ridge)

I know the US dollar's a bit weak right now but this motel was still overpriced even taking this into account. There's no air in the rooms and nothing to move air around except a small cheap floor fan. It wasn't until midnight that the air cooled enough to sleep comfortably. Other than that it's a pretty average motel.
Staff were nice :-)

My husband, 14-year-old teenaged daughter and I stayed for five nights in July. The hotel is in a good location in relation to downtown Victoria, which you could walk to. We took the bus daily, and it is only a 10-minute ride and the buses come frequently. Our room was a one-bedroom suite with TVs in both the main room and bedroom. It was perfect for us because our teenager needed her privacy. The equipped kitchenette was great because we could store milk and drinks in the fridge, heat up leftovers and prepare hot drinks, breakfasts and snack lunches, which was very convenient and saved some money and time. The room was clean and tidy and everything was in good working order. My husband was disappointed with the free movies they offer because the channel they broadcast it on was poor quality (too snowy). The pool was a real bonus if you like to swim. It is heated and it can be used rain or shine because it is covered and there are sliding garage-type doors on either side with a fenced-in patio on each side as well. My daughter made use of the pool and I made use of the patio tables, sunning myself while sheltered from the breeze and nearby traffic noise (the hotel is on Douglas Street which is very busy). The staff was very courteous and helpful. I made use of their free internet access to print my airline boarding passes and check my e-mail, and they have very good complimentary coffee in the lobby. The Mayfair Mall across the street has all the usual Canadian chain stores (great for my daughter who likes to shop) plus a food court (and a Tim Horton's) which was handy to eat at when we didn't want to go to a restaurant. Starbucks is one block up the street and there is another Tim Horton's and Swiss Chalet two blocks up. We had a nice dinner one night at Kitty's Hideaway down the street (good homestyle ribs and fish and chips). The only drawbacks might be the traffic noise because our suite faced onto Douglas, but I am a light sleeper and it didn't bother me, plus the distance to downtown Victoria. In retrospect, we might have rented a car so we could save time sightseeing. If you want pampering and posh restaurants stay downtown for a lot more money. If you want to save your money for sightseeing, etc. I recommend this hotel. For the price, this hotel was very good value and I would stay there again.

My daughter and I stayed at the Blue Ridge Inn in May 2010. It is clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. It is a bit further away from the waterfront area of Victoria than we wanted but only took 10 minutes by car. It is opposite the Mayfair Mall which we thought would be an advantage but the mall itself is hardly worth a visit.
