Guest Review of the Best Western Inner Harbour Victoria

Our family of four arrived July 1st for three nights.
Overall it was a great stay. The location was perfect
and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was large,
clean and modern with great water pressure in the
bathtub/shower. The check in staff were friendly and
helpful (especially Craig who replaced a burnt out light
bulb within minutes of us calling). The large flat
screen tv was better than I expected and the hotel
continuously offered three free movies per day plus free
wi-fi.
We requested a room with kitchen facilities with a view
of the harbour. We were given a lovely north facing room
on the 6th floor with a gorgeous view of the harbour
(and also the Canada Day fireworks) and as promised,
there was a kitchen. We paid the one time fee of $15 to
have the kitchen cupboards unlocked, and there were
enough plates, bowls, pots etc for our needs. What I
wasn't expecting was the size of the fridge! It was one
of those mini bar fridges with the little flappy plastic
door covering the "freezer" compartment. Well, I wish I
had checked in BEFORE shopping... We had ice cream,
frozen entrees and frozen vegetables and it was a
struggle to fit it in the so called freezer. One of the
reasons we chose the Best Western Plus Inner Harbour was
for the kitchen facilities. Well we were disappointed
with the kitchen which was large enough to cook in, but
not eat in. There was a little table with two chairs.
Well, we booked a room for our family of four....so we
let the kids eat sitting on the beds while watching tv.
The continental breakfast was fine and the kids love
waffles, but with the kitchen we really didn't need the
free breakfast too.
The kids really loved the outdoor pool and I enjoyed the
quiet of the back garden with a book sitting in a
lounger while the kids splashed around.
Because of the size of the kitchen, we would probably
not stay here again with our family of four as it didn't
quite meet our needs.

When planning a holiday, I want an affordable hotel, a
very clean hotel room, I want modern decor, I want
quiet, and a bed that is so comfortable that I don't
want to get out of.
The Best Western Inner Harbour gave all this to us. The
ladies and gentlemen at the front desk gave us the
greatest restaurants to eat at. Told us where they were
located, how to get there, etc. The room was beautiful,
all modern decor, little kitchen, comfy beds, and very
clean and quiet. The price was in our price range, the
continental breakfast was good, it gave us a nice choice
of food and gave us an early start to the day. The
location was perfect, the think I liked the least was we
didn't have a harbour view which would of been perfect.
The pool was clean, water was warm...... I would go back
there again.

Spent 2 nights and could not have been more pleased with
this hotel. Very friendly staff, very clean property and
in a perfect location. The parliament, the
waterfront....all easily walkable. Rooms on higher
floors have a good harbour view. Room was spacious and
very comfortable. The price includes wifi, breakfast and
parking.....a great deal!
Highly recommend this hotel!

This is an average hotel, and the only reason I continue
to stay there (as there are many options in Victoria) is
that the staff are excellent and they offer great ideas
for dinner and things to do.
The best western inner harbour has very comfortable beds
and pillows, the hotel did undergo a renovation, but the
bathrooms still need some work. The hotel gets a number
of tour groups, so the walls/doors seem to take the
brunt of the damage from guests. This hotel seems to be
a senior's pick as well. They hotel does provide
complimentary breakfast in the breakfast room. The
underground parking is small as only the first level of
the parkade can handle vehicles larger than a compact.
Make sure you get a room that is not near a fire
exit/stairs or the elevators or else you'll spend your
stay listening to the door slam or to people talking
loudly near the elevator.
I have been traveling to Victoria for business for 6
years and I have stayed at most of the hotels.
Unfortunately for the traveler, many hotels in Victoria
are over priced for what they provide, especially in the
high season. If you are traveling in the low season, you
can get a great hotel room at a reasonable price. |
