We stay here through the Christmas - New Year period
annually. The property is beautiful and well maintained
but the staff make the hotel almost like home. Pleasant,
friendly and ever helpful. Food and bev is awesome!
Harbor view rooms are well worth booking well ahead for.
We stay here any time we get to Victoria and can't
imagine staying anywhere else. Pet friendly too by prior
arrangement and they go all out in this regard. A free
shuttle service will get you downtown from the hotel in
moments. This hotel has it all!

Enjoyed the overall layout of the resort, great view of
the Inner Harbour. It looks like it is a long way from
things, but a quick walk over the bridge and you are in
the downtown area. The harbour taxi took across to
Fisherman's Wharf in just a minute and he was the best
taxi driver ever! Rooms were clean and spacious, pool
area and fitness centre nice also with a view and
sunning deck! We were offered a free upgrade upon
arrival that included a hot breakfast...definitely worth
it!
Concierge was helpful with maps and tips, as always!

Our family stayed here recently on a Saturday night. Our
room wasn't ready when we checked in as the official
check in time is 4:00 (which seemed kind of late as
check-out was at noon); but our room was ready by 3:30.
We found our room to be large and comfortable. The only
thing that could have been an improvement would be to
have a mini refrigerator in the room. We had a beautiful
view of the inner harbor. My son enjoyed the pool and
the fitness room was excellent! It's a short walk over
the bridge to Chinatown and Market Square. We walked
everywhere! Willie's Bakery is a great spot for
breakfast.

We stayed here for just one night -- we arrived at about
6 pm and checked out by 9 am -- so I don't have a lot of
experience to go on. That caveat provided, I can tell
you this:
1. The location is great. It's over the bridge from the
inner harbor -- a short walk from all the action, and a
bit more tranquil. Its position on the harbor is like
the rest of Victoria is there for your viewing pleasure,
and they've taken full advantage of that with glorious,
gigantic windows and a beautiful patio. Bravo. I also
understand that they are planning a renovation within
the year. Not sure what they are renovating because
everything looked in good shape to us, but I imagine
they have something special planned.
2. The hotel is set off in its own little garden
setting. Pretty.
3. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. The bed was
exceptionally comfortable. A really nice respite after a
busy day of activity.
4. In addition to the hotel being easy to get to on
foot, it also has water taxis and is a regular stop on
at least one of the tour bus routes. Easy!
5. Wow on the service. Victoria at the main desk (yes,
she is Victoria from Victoria) dazzled us with her
welcoming smile, warm personality, helpful overview of
the hotel, and graciousness. We felt relaxed
immediately, received immediate attention, and felt
neither rushed nor ignored.
6. We ordered room service for breakfast which provided
plenty of choice, tasted good, and was delivered
promptly.
7. They have a glass-enclosed pool on the waterfront
that we didn't have the time to visit, but looked
popular and looked to be a clever way to enjoy an
"outdoor" pool in a city that may not always enjoy
weather that is conducive to outdoor swimming. Great
idea.
We would definitely stay here again if we ever have the
good fortune to visit this beautiful city again. And, my
17-year-old son said that we should stay in Delta hotels
wherever we go which, from a guy who isn't likely to get
very enthusiastic about hotel choices, is extraordinary
praise indeed. |
