We pays extra for a harbor view which isn't that great. The room smells like
cigarettes and the tv controller doesn't work. The rooms have double, not queen,
beds.

Bathroom was not clean : hair all over the place, remote control was missing,
couch not ready for our daughter. She also did not receive her welcome package,
which is always disappointing for a kid
I informed the hotel management about the situation in the bathroom : they would
send someone, who never showed up. Was hoping on a discount or at least
apologies but all I got was the bill 650 CND for two nights. Way too over rated
and too expensive.

spent 3 nights at the grand pacific overlooking Victoria harbour weekend of Aug
19th, 2011. we had a suite that accommodated two couples so the room was very
spacious and tasteful decorated. double sinks which was great. we had a balcony
view on the side and a front view over the harbour. it was an awesome sight. the
hotel was very clean and the staff excellent. we did not eat there as we choose
other places on our tour. the rooms at this hotel is pricey but when you compare
other hotels in same area we thought we did have a reasonable rate. the pacific
is perfectly located to all tours, restaurants and walking distance to the
harbour. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We stayed here on a recent trip from a Seattle vacation. Our main purpose in
visiting was to go on a whale watching tour (5 Star Whale Watching Tour which
was great) so we stayed one night so we could see some of Victoria, too. The
hotel is in a great location…facing the water, next to the parliament and close
to where the Victoria Clipper docks so it's an easy walk if you are lugging
suitcases. We were on the second floor and the room was very spacious with a
nice balcony (2 chairs) and a view of the water. The hotel seems very new and
was such a nice change from the hotel we stayed at in Seattle. It was elegant
and had very nice rooms. Wireless internet was available for free in the lobby
but not in the rooms which was OK by us.
This hotel is in such a great location and you can easily see all of the
downtown areas of Victoria. We didn't eat in the restaurant on site but went
next door to a restaurant connected to another hotel. We ate outside and enjoyed
the fantastic weather and view of the water. It was reasonably priced and the
food was good. We also ate at a restaurant on Bastion Square as well as at the
Flying Otter (a floating restaurant right where the planes take off). It’s a
small restaurant and was packed both times we went. The first time we didn’t
want to wait but we went after our whale watching tour and had a nice lunch.
This was our second time to visit Victoria. The first time was over 10 years ago
and was only for a day tour. We had tea at the Empress, took a tour of the
island and saw Butchart Gardens. This time was more leisurely and we had more
time to see the city. Some of the things we did on this overnight trip besides
the whale watching trip (which I highly recommend) and walking the downtown area
was to walk in the beautiful park, Beacon Hill, close to the hotel and take a
tour of the Parliament (very interesting and free!). If we ever come back to
Victoria we would definitely stay at the Grand Pacific again.
Victoria was beautiful and this time of year the weather was fantastic! We ate
all our meals outside. We loved walking along the water and was lucky to be
there during the Dragon Boat festival and races. It's also the best time to see
whales. I highly recommend putting this city on your bucket list! |
