I mean it was ok - not your best place. It was nice and
big - but we got a small room that was below
expectations. Seems like a great place for weddings /
receptions. Although there were 3 going on at the same
time which made things awkward for all the guests (we
were not involved in any of them). Would've loved to try
the spa but way too expensive. It was nice to be able to
walk from there to anywhere, but that's not hard to find
in Victoria.
Also, incredibly loud - not the place to get peace and
quiet. Can hear conversations all the way down the hall
and in other rooms. It was weird.

We arrived by Ferry. The traffic coordinator at the
Ferry Terminal called Delta Pointe for the van and they
were there in a few minutes. The front desk personnel
were very welcoming and gave us info and said to just
ask if we had any questions and/or concerns. Room was
lovely with a very comfortable king size bed and a
beautiful harbor view. We could easily walk to most town
destinations from the hotel. However, my husband is not
a big walking fan and the van would take us anywhere we
wanted to go. I could usually get him to walk one way.
The concierge was very friendly and helpful, as were the
bellmen and drivers. Food and service in the restaurant
was excellent.

The hotel is quite nice. It has a perfect position; it's
on the bay opposite the parliament and "the Empress". In
five minute walk you are in the center of Victoria. The
room was no bad, quite simple, and without a safe. It's
not really cheap! I think they could improve easily the
room with some paints or pictures.

Great hotel in a great location. Harbour view is worth
it, so much boat activity etc.
Easy walk across the bridge to downtown to partake in
the various restaurants and markets; don't take a cab.
Service at the hotel is great, room was great.
Spa was enjoyable, I had a pedicure and my wife had a
pedicure and manicure.
Food I don't recommend, lots of great restaurants across
the bridge (Swans is a great pub with some tasty food).
Room service prices are a ripoff and quality is a bigger
insult.
Overall, I recommend the hotel, but not the food.

We moved here from the magnolia because we couldn't
stand looking down on the rooftops covered on seagull
poop. They offered us a great deal here and gave us free
parking. However as soon as we got to the room we
noticed a hammering noise that went pn and on. We
complained and they informed us that it was 'two baby
seagulls' and they had been removed. Then there was
drilling noises that went on and on. Calling down again,
we were informed that there was construction going on in
the hotel and that they could hear the noise in the
lobby so there was no point in moving us anywhere, and
that the workers would be starting up again the next
morning at 10:00. We were not offered any compensation
for this annoyance.
The rooms have great views of the harbour but they need
a facelift. They are definitely stuck in the nineties!
Old green carpet, pink furniture and outdated art all
add up to a tired loom, not to mention the dark
bathrooms that felt too depressing to have a bath in the
bathtub.
Had a drink in the lounge and it was empty and lifeless,
and the staff seemed to care less about being friendly.
Maybe its because they aren't downtown, but it
definitely feels tired and lifeless. |
