We love historic B & B'S and this one surpassed our expectations! The staff
obviously enjoys their jobs as they go well above and beyond to make sure you
are completely satisfied. Very helpful with which local attractions to visit.
The food was prep was attractively prepared and very delicious. Can't go wrong
here for great hospitality. Our rooms were neat, tidy, and full of antique
character to match the mansion's historic period.

The two separate hotels makes it confusing for the guest AND for the employees
but very well done.

After exiting the 90 minute ferry ride in the fog we arrived at the Victorian
waterfront. From here we walked approximately 2-3 blocks to the Gatsby Mansion.
We arrived to a charming, huge, old mansion. Upon walking up to the front desk
we were greeted by Caroline who went above and beyond to make our first
impression brilliant. We walked upstairs to the 3rd floor to a quaint 2 bedroom
suite that overlooked the harbor. When we walked downstairs and out the door to
begin our journey Caroline came running out after us to make sure we had
directions, needed any suggestions or guidance. Truly fantastic. Upon returning
that evening at 9:30 PM after a long day of walking around and touring Victoria
we were greeted by Stan. My husband asked if it was too late to have a nightcap
to which Stan replied, absolutely not, join me and the boys. We sat for another
3 hours and told stories, listened to stories and had great company. Caroline,
Stan and the other 2 young men we had cocktails with made us feel like we were
staying in their home. The next morning, after not feeling exactly on my A game,
Caroline recognized this and offered me green tea for detoxifying. I will stay
here every time I revisit Victoria!

The room was incredible. Comfortable, great view, location was across the street
from the ferry which helped immensely. Staff was most kind and polite, the
dining experience fantastic.

Me and my girlfriend stayed at the Gatsby Mansion two weeks ago. At first, we
thought the restaurant and the main floor looked very rustic and beautiful.
After we checked in, we were not impressed. The room was so small, the garbage
in the bathroom was full and the smell was disgusting. If there was a ghost
living there, I'm sure it left because they couldn't bare the smell. We stayed
for dinner and we were not pleased considering it was suppose to be a
'fine-dining' restaurant. The food tasted okay but the presentation wasn't
great. Me and my girlfriend agreed that staying at the days inn across the
street and going to Mcdonalds for dinner would of been a better choice. At least
we would of saved money and had the same experience. To sum up, we will not be
back any time soon!

This was my boyfriend's and I first time staying in a b&b and impressed is an
under statement! Stan welcomed us immediately and Caroline took care of us the
rest of the time. We would definitely stay at the Gatsby Mansion again! |
