Guest Review of the Delta Ocean Pointe Resort Victoria

I stayed here on business, the views of the harbor make
up for the older classic looking room and bathroom is a
bit dated. The room is functional and i was able to do
work at the desk while looking out the window. The
Health club was nice but busy in the morning; it seems
the hotel shares the facility. The restaurant view was
very nice but it is overpriced and the menu had too many
unique items on it. If you are stay 4-5 days and want a
regular dinner you won’t find it here. More affordable
cuisine is a short ways across the bridge. Being a
privileged member helps with available access to club
room and free breakfast is a nice perk. This is
defiantly one of the better hotels to stay at if you are
in Victoria.

Delta Victoria Pointe Resort & Spa is top notch for
customer service. This hotel has amazing friendly staff
and so helpful. The rooms are spotless with fresh linens
each day. Each morning on the 3rd floor Signature room,
you are greeted by a friendly hostess with the offering
of fresh specialty coffee or teas, cheeses, fresh fruit
with a choice of different cereals, and baking goods. It
is great to be able to walk downtown Victoria as you are
so close . This hotel offers a driving service to take
you downtown and pick you up after your dining
experience. Always a treat to stay here, never a
disappointment.

We stayed at the Delta Victoria on Sept 18 for one night
only. It was our first time to Victoria and we booked
the hotel on an online special for $119 per night. The
room we stayed in goes for $289 a night regularly, so it
was quite a steal.
The location is beautiful -- right on the water, with a
gorgeous walking path in front. You can go one way, and
cross the bridge into downtown Victoria. Or if you walk
the other way, you can find the dock for the water taxi
and Spinnaker's pub. We ate at Spinnaker's and really
enjoyed the walk there and the food/beer was great! We
didn't get a chance to enjoy the amenities of the hotel
much, except the hot tub, given that our stay was so
short. But the bed was so comfortable! After a day of
exploring in Victoria, and being so jet-lagged, we slept
amazingly well in the comfy King bed. The room was
large, clean and comfortable. The staff was very
friendly. In the morning, we opted to walk across the
bridge back to downtown Victoria for an amazing
breakfast at John's Place, but we heard other guests
commenting on how good the breakfast was at the hotel.
We just prefer to eat at local restaurants when we
travel, rather than at the hotel itself. The hotel is
really impressive though. One of the nicest Deltas I
have seen, and you can't beat the location and the view.
I could have sat out front for hours, just enjoying the
surroundings.

Stayed here for 1nt - The hotel is nice - lobby bar etc
have great views. Service was very friendly checking in
and at the resto. My room was what I believe was an
older one which has yet to be updated. Had a kitchenette
that was very old looking but functional if you needed
it. Room it self was clean and the bed was comfortable.
The washroom was a bit dated. The location was decent. I
would give it a 4* but based on the price I paid and the
state of the room it gets a 3.5. |
