We stayed here over Christmas with another couple. The location was right on the
harbour which was handy for all the places we wanted to visit. The only
disappointment was that the restaurant was not wheelchair accessible and as a
result we were not able to have any of our meals at the hotel. It would have
been nice if we were able to have some of our meals right at the hotel.

We stayed here for a week, this hotel is older but well kept and the woodwork
was beautiful. The rooms were clean and the bed [king size] and bedding very
comfortable. The room furniture was a bit dated. The staff was very friendly and
helpful. The location is excellent just off the Harbor [ very close] which also
helped with less traffic concern and noise. Many restaurants were either around
the corner or within a short walking distance. The restaurant served a decent
breakfast. Parking was underground and safe. Again Location cannot be beat.
close to many attractions such as whale watching, artists row etc Staying on the
main road that runs along the Harbor would be congested and noisy. This is a 100
ft. or less off the Harbor. For the rates a great find and would def. stay there
again.
Room Tip: ask for a King bed and a water view

The hotel has a good location downtown .... good price and basically clean (
dirty coffee cups)....they appear to be trying to save money in heating, and
paper goods.. the downside was that the hotel is dated... We paid for a King
size bed and it consisted of two single pushed together...the walls are thin and
you can here water running in the pipes and people taking in the room beside you
and the noise on the street....there was no hotel directory..so we had no idea
what services where available in the hotel...no paper or pen to write
information on..I cant comment on the services in the hotel...since I was not
aware of any of them. Check in was quick...the staff didn't offer any
information on the hotel or area. There is a $9 per day parking fee.. overall I
would not stay there as we didn't have a quiet sleep either night.
Room Tip: this is a affordable place to stay but not good for light sleepers.

This hotel is right on the harbor and was exactly what we were looking for. It
is literally 2-3 blocks within all major attractions within downtown Victoria.
The rooms were clean and comfortable, albeit the pillows were a bit old and flat
and could use replacing. We had breakfast at Huntington Grill and it was very
yummy. The service at the grill was great. The value was very good in terms of
affordability.

Stayed here towards the end of our 3 week trip to Alberta & BC. Best feature is
definitely the location which is ideal for exploring Victoria and especially the
lovely harbour area. Really does need an upgrade though and some serious money
spent on it. It could be fantastic but the whole place looks really tired. Room
was clean, though a bit cramped (and dated of course) with dodgy fans for "aircon"
but on the flip side, staff were friendly and helpful so no complaints on that
front at all. Overall it just about met our needs for the 3 nights we were there
but wouldn't have wanted to be there much longer than that. C'mom owners, take
the brave pill and make the investment your hotel deserves

We stayed in a standard room for two nights. The best things about this hotel
were its location and its price. It is an older, charming property with good
sized rooms and it is a decent place to stay for a day or two, especially at the
discounted price we paid. The rooms, however, are old looking and seriously in
need of a decorating update. Parking at $9.00 per night (about 12% of room cost)
was reasonable. The breakfast we purchased in the hotel's dining room was decent
and there is a computer available for guest use in the lobby.

This hotel is situated in a beautiful street off the harbour, nestled in between
beautiful old trees.
The old is old and antiquated, but you can have antiquated and CLEAN this hotel
was not, they concentrated on checkin and checkouts, not people like us staying
for a few days, had to ask everyday for amenities, no linen change till third
day! as i phoned down and asked, and no sweetener for my coffee ever, and no
clean cups or glasses, so next time i will pay an extra few hundred dollars to
be treated as i was on vacation and not the hired cleaner
thumbs down to this downtown harbor hotel
thumbs up for the poor boys on the front desk who apologized and had to keep
bringing essentials to our room, no cups no glasses, no sugar, no bed change, no
ice bucket liner, NO AIR CONDITIONER
cobwebs and hair (not ours) on ceiling bathroom, and no response or apology from
any hotel manager or even a CREDIT for cleaning my own room to its standard, |
