Great Airport Hotel
We stayed here simply because we couldn’t book a room downtown until the week.
We were very pleased by the comfortable beds, Mountain View, and how easy it was
to get to downtown. Excellent breakfast!!

Disappointing
I’ve always liked Courtyard by Marriott hotels in the past, but I was
disappointed by this one. The mattress on the bed was of inferior quality, and
the bath was not up to the standards of most of today’s hotels in the same price
range. It is a quick interstate ride from the airport.April 3, 2010
Note that there are two Courtyard locations about a half-mile apart--this is
about the high-rise Courtyard on West Valley Hwy. It is a nice example of a
Courtyard with high-quality appointments and details and one of the better hotel
restaurants you'll see. It also featured one of the best weekend values I saw on
a recent trip to the Northwest. (However, it's worth remembering that your
nightly rate DOES NOT include breakfast--which runs $12-14 per person extra for
a mostly-continental breakfast comparable to what other chains offer for free.)
The bigger problem was train noise. My room faced away from the highway, and
toward the two railroad tracks that run within 1/4 mile behind the property.
Multiple trains pass the hotel during the nighttime/early morning hours, so
getting blasted by a train whistle in the middle of the night is likely on that
side of the hotel. Noise within the building is a bit of a problem as well, but
nothing like the train issue.

The high-rise Courtyard on West Valley Rd is a high quality hotel with very well
appointed rooms and excellent bedding. The rooms are very clean, in fact they
were shampooing the rooms carpets of the vacant rooms when we were there. The
"Beware" referrs to the railway which runs behind the hotel and several trains
run thru the night with some using their horn for the marked railway crossings.
Since we were staying for three nights, and lost sleep the first night, I asked
the hotel to be moved across the hall to the non-railway side. They were
extremely nice and very accommodating. Note, our first room had a small fridge
and microwave, but the second room didn't. The hotel is relatively close to Sea-Tac
and does offer free shuttle service Over-all great hotel!

I didnt really have any problems with this hotel. This was a very good
experience at this hotel. My girlfriend and I had a positive experience at this
hotel. The staff was all nice, the restaurant was good, the room was nice also.
Another plus it was within working distnace to the mall, and there was plenty of
restaurant near by the hotel..

The Courtyard by Marriott Seattle Sea-Tac is best described as a business
traveler's hotel. The property is attractive even as you drive up, and appears
very well kept. The lobby and public areas are no less attractive.
When we entered the building we were warmly greeted by the front desk staff.
Since we had done a prepaid booking the check-in ws very quick. We would make
use of the front desk staff one more time during our stay to ask for some extra
room supplies (drinking glasses, towels) and found that from the time we maek
our call until the requested items arrived to be very quick, under 10 minutes.
Our room was rather large; a single king bed with a couch that also doubled as a
sleeper sofa. Our room was located on the back side of the building. We had a
very narrow but accessible balcony that overlooked the rear parking lot, a local
paved bicycle pathway and empty field and then the railroad tracks. Others have
commented on the noise from the railroad, but the actual location of the tracks
is many hundreds of yards away from the hotel. At least a couple of trains
passed while we wer ein the room and I did not find them disturbing at all.
The room was very clean. I tend to inspect the bed very closely when taking
occupancy of a new room, mostly for general dirt, unclean sheets, etc. I was
pleased to see that this property did not have bed spreads but rather used a
nice thickness blanket decorated with a throw at the bottom of the bed.
Bedspreads are probably the dirtiest part of a hotel room bed and I was
pleasantly surprised to not see one in the room. I found nothing wrong with the
bed or linens.
Free Internet is available in this hotel, however it is not wireless. This was a
huge disappointment because we were traveling only with an iPhone and as such we
had no WiFi available in the building and were forced to use 3G for any of our
data access. I hope that they will take care of this deficiency prior to our
next visit.
The hotel has a nicely appointed, albeit small exercise room. This room adjoins
the pool and hot tub. This is one of the nicer indoor pool facilities I've seen
in a business class hotel in a long time. And again, maintained to a very high
standard.
Our night's sleep was peaceful enough, no noisy neighbors and I never noticed
any trains during the night. However, the mattress was quite uncomfortable. The
mattress seemed to be very well used and probably needed to be replaced in the
near future. In this day in age where hotels brag about their mattresses and bed
linens, I'm surprised any hotel could offer such an uncomfortable mattress and
be competitive with other properties. I guess this is where they can justify to
offer the low price per night that I received.
I would be willing to stay in this Courtyard again when traveling to this
general location. The only thing I hope for is wireless Internet access and new
beds. Beyond that it was a good value even for casual travelers. |
