The view out my window was a 2-story apartment building as I got ready for
bed... The ceiling of room 325 creaked horribly as someone (cleaning staff?)
repeatedly walked back and forth upstairs while I was desperately composing a
paper due for school in the evening. This hotel cost the same amount that the
much nicer upscale airport hotel in Portland cost at the commencement of my
trip. I will probably plan to stay with that chain instead in the future... at
least the airport shuttle was convenient at Comfort SeaTac...

Over the years we have stayed in almost every hotel at SeaTac. It has been quite
some time since we used the Comfort Inn there, but did so on January 14th. We
have been getting discouraged with the other hotels at that airport, as either
they are dumpy or okay but way overpriced.
We will use the Comfort Inn next time. Apparently they have enlarged the
facility since our last stay. We had room 561 which I guess is a suite of sorts.
Clean, large, good TV, couch, desk, easy chair, good staff at desk, excellent
lite breakfast, and good timely shuttle.
The downsides are that (1) you have to walk a ways for a good dinner restaurant.
Some are not all that far but it was raining hard when we were there. So we ate
in the “Casino” across the street. Okay food at the Casino, otherwise, I liked
nothing about the place. Enjoying dinner in a noisy, crowded, gambling and
smoking environment is not my forte. Next time I will walk a little further
regardless of the rain.
Another down side (2) is that getting to your room in this hotel means figuring
out a maze which is difficult to negotiate. You might have to walk a
considerable distance and zig and zag. Since we were catching a flight we didn’t
have wheels. But if we did, our room location would have been ideal, because of
the ample parking.

Close to the airport, and long term parking/stay rates available. The staff is
friendly. The place is very used. The bed was uncomfortable and the noise level
high. I was awake everytime the shuttle backed up (beep, beep, beep) so I must
have been by the parking area, not to mention people having conversations in the
hallways at 3am, 4am, 5am. We stayed because we are almost 2 hours away from the
airport and had a morning flight. We also took advantage of the stay/park rate
and left our car for a week in the fenced in parking area. Funny thing was that
we had 1.5 miles more on the car than when we parked it (my husband is a fanatic
about this since he had a bad valet experience once). Reminds me that traveling
is just damned uncomfortable these days. |
