PIKE PLACE MARKET POST ALLEY
Between the Corner Market and the Triangle Building, tiny Post Alley is lined with more shops and restaurants. Extending north across Stewart St, this street offers two of the area's best places for a drink: the Pink Door Ristorante an Italian hideaway, and an Irish pub called Kells. In the lower post Alley beside the market sign is the La Salle Hotel, the first bordello north of Yesler Way; it was originally the Outlook Hotel, but was taken over in 1942
by the notorious Nellie Curtis, a woman with 13 aliases and a knack for running suspiciously profitable hotels with thousands of lonely sailors lined up nightly outside the door. (She's the namesake for the Pike Place Pub & Brewery's equally tempting Naughty Nellie's Ale.) A view of Kells looking South down Post Alley.
The building, rehabbed in 1977, now houses commercial and residential space.

Directions to Pike Place Market:

From I-5 South: Take the UNION ST. EXIT (#165B). Stay straight to go onto UNION ST. for 0.4 miles. Turn right onto 1st Ave for 1 block.

From I-5 North: Take the SENECA ST. EXIT (#165) on the left. Turn slight left onto SENECA ST. for 0.3 miles. Turn right on 1st Ave for 2 blocks.


Parking: The best bet for convenient parking is the Public Market Parking Garage at 1531 Western Avenue. The garage offers covered parking and is connected to the Market's Main Arcade by an elevator and skybridge walkway. You can park there 1 hour free everyday and it's only $5 all day on Sunday.
To get to this lot from 1st Ave, turn left on Pike which takes you through the main market street. Then take a left on Western Avenue at the north end of Pike Place. You will find the Public Market Parking Garage on your right, directly after the market skybridge.
