SPOKANE LILAC FESTIVAL ARMED FORCES TORCHLIGHT PARADE
The Lilac Parade in Spokane is always held on the third Saturday in May, Armed
Forces Day, as we honor the men and women of all branches of the United States
military services. The Spokane Lilac Festival has consistantly brought to the
Spokane area visitors, "heads in beds", military personnel, and lots of kids
during the third week in May. The City of Spokane recognizes the value of our
annual springtime event and is assisting in promoting the largest Armed Forces
Torchlight Parade in the nation.
Come join us for the Annual Spokane Lilac Festival Armed Forces Torchlight
Parade. Yes, it is the 70th anniversary of this venerable event that showcases
the military and youth of our communities.

Lilac Bloomsday Run

Distance: 12 kilometers (7.46 miles)

Eligibility: Open to all runners, walkers, wheelchairs, assisted wheelchairs and
strollers.
Race Start: 9:00 a.m.
Course Closes: 1:00 p.m.
Spokane Valleyfest
Valleyfest has been a successful event bringing the Spokane Valley,
Washington community together since 1990. Valleyfest provides entertainment for
the entire family, an opportunity to meet and have fun with neighbors, while
also recognizing area youth for their talents. The community-wide event,
featuring a parade, pancake breakfast, fun run, entertainment, youth talent,
games and booths, is usually held during the second Saturday of September.
The annual Lilac Festival Golf Tournament the 3rd Saturday in June.
Sand in the City, a sand scuplture contest held in August on Wall Street
in downtown Spokane.
