Wineries in Richland
Visit the
Columbia Valley and discover the heart of Washington's Wine Country. Sharing the
same latitude as the world-famous Burgundy and Bordeaux regions of France, the
Columbia Valley has the perfect soil conditions and temperature for making great
wines.
The Tri-Cities' area wineries are still young enough to be intimate, yet
experienced enough to produce world-class wines. A visit to one of the 150 area
wineries in the Columbia Valley is a truly unique experience. You will often be
greeted by the winemaker and invited to tour the vineyards, labs and warehouse.
An almost magical combination of soil and climate makes Columbia Valley & Red
Mountain fruit unique from wine grapes grown elsewhere in the state. The
region’s long, hot summer days and crisp, cool evening breezes, combine with
high mineral, sandy, loess soils left by Ice Age Floods; creating near perfect
conditions for making great wine.

Goose Ridge Estate Winery
a family-owned and operated winery dedicated to limited production, handcrafted
wines from select, estate-grown grapes. The Monson family's vineyard is planted
on a south-facing slope in Washington's Columbia Valley adjacent to Red mountain
that consistently yields rich, ripe grapes.
Acclaimed winemaker Charlie Hoppes has his pick of the vineyard. Fermenting and
aging wines in small lots from a handful of blocks carefully selected for their
exceptional character and complexity is exactly what the Monsons had in mind for
Goose Ridge when they founded the winery in 1999. The family has farmed in the
Columbia Valley for four decades and is known for their commitment to quality.
Goose Ridge Vineyard is built on that tradition.
