Glad we had a GPS as it was a little confusing to get here from Freeway. The
breakfast buffet is setup in the restaurant, so there was plenty of seating.
Service for breakfast was excellent. The hotel is divided into several different
buildings and was kind of difficult to get from one place to another. The only
draw back we had here was the customer service we received upon arrival. We had
previously requested a roll away. We were told it was already in the room. Not
so. After 1 hr. and 4 phone calls we finally got the bed. We were waiting to
crawl into bed by this time.

Stayed at the Red Lion for a week in July for business. Accommodations are
basic, but comfortable. Hotel is a bit dated in looks and decor, but homey. Tons
of families, lots of kids, and great pool for them. Made me feel more at home,
missing my family while here on business. Hotel is located very convenient to DT
Bellevue - just a few blocks from the high-rises on NE 8th - walking distance.
It is right next to 405, and when sitting on the balcony, its definitely noisy,
but I never noticed it in my room with door closed. Restaurant is good, food
basic, price is right, service reasonable. Free parking. Overall a great value
for family or budget traveller.

I'm not sure if posting rates we got through hotels.com is kosher or not, but we
secured a room at the Red Lion Bellevue for just $59 a night, compared to their
usual rate of $119. After reading some of the reviews, my wife and I were not
looking forward to our stay, but we had already planned to move locations later
in the trip to a downtown hotel, which I will review as well.
Anyhow, once we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised. Service was adequate,
rooms were clean (and newly renovated bathrooms eased our mildew concerns from
older reviews), and the landscaping and pool area were actually quite
attractive. To add to that, there is a Hertz rental office located in the lobby,
which made our car rental experience VERY easy.
We never took advantage of the low-priced breakfast buffet (we went to Top Pot
Doughnuts each morning), though it seemed popular while we were there. The
location of the hotel is excellent for anyone staying on the Eastside. The hotel
is right off of 405, and just one or two blocks north of the I-90 bridge into
Seattle. It is within just a few blocks of some good restaurants as well.
Had we paid the full price, we would have felt lukewarm about the value, but at
half the price, we both felt like we got a steal. Don't worry about all the
"bad" reviews - the remodelling has made a huge difference!

Got a deal . We almost drove right by the hotel since the signage wasn't great.
First impressions were not great, as check in was not the best experience. There
was one person checking in when we arrived, so we stood waiting. At one point
the person checking in left the desk to do something, and the lady behind the
desk never once looked up to say hello, or 'be just a minute'. A man walks in 5
minutes after we'd been waiting, stands behind us in line. She looks up at him
and asks how she can help him! Apparently he was a guest who's been staying
there a while, and needed something. As he left, he turned to us and said
'sorry'...so even he realized how rude the front desk lady was in helping him
before us! When we finally got checked in, she never even mentioned the
breakfast to us. We only knew because of the reviews on this site.
We got to the room a little disgruntled, to find housing keeping just finishing
up the room. The best I can say is that the bathroom was very clean. As for the
rest of the room...it was so dark we couldn't really see whether it was clean or
not. We did see a stain on the bedspread. We had double beds, which were not
that comfortable. The mattress had a dip in the middle. There were large gaps in
the door to the hallway, so doors banging and people talking were really loud.
To top it off, we were rudely awakened early in the morning by a wake up call -
that we never asked for!! After I hung up the first time, a minute later the
phone rang again...good for someone who actually ordered the wake up call, but
really annoying for those who didn't!
The hotel itself is ok, but the service made this a place we will never return
to again.

Stay here if you don't need good Wifi and decent showers! The Wifi is extremely
unreliable and when it does work it is very slow. I stayed at this Red Lion with
two other business colleagues in other parts of the hotel and their experience
was the same with the Wifi. My room also had terrible water level fluctuations
and it was near impossible to have a decent shower in warm water with proper
water pressure.

Well I am actually sitting in room as I write this, so very fresh in my mind.
With that in mind, if you have any sensitivity to noise, you should def. NOT
stay here. I saw two dogs staying in hotel just on my wing, and when I (and next
door neighbor) called to complain, nothing happened, DOGS DID BARK ALL NIGHT
THOUGH, SO YAY!
also, the grout in shower is filthy....toilet right next to (dirty) coffee cups.
The entire floor reeked of mildew, so who knows how much crap is being breathed
in. Also, breakfast is 5 dollars and free at a lot of nearbys!

This is a great place to just relax. That is, if you don't have the room fan on.
It was a little noisy but I usually sleep through everything. They have your
usual amenities like fitness room, swimming pool, business center, internet,
etc. I unfortunately went when it was raining so because there are multiple
buildings, to get to the lobby will require walking outside and the pathways are
not completely covered.
Otherwise, it's a nice quite place. Good location, near down-town. They have an
on-site restaurant with a great breakfast buffet for only $5 (paid at the
lobby). Great, friendly staff. Big lounge area in the lobby if you want to hang
there.

The hotel room is clean and decorated warmly. The bed however is smaller
than expected. It’s a only a little bit bigger than a twin bed and not
quite a full-size bed. (We have 2 beds in the room). We weren’t really
bother by it since we are smaller in statue (my husband and I share a
bed) but I could see how it might be troublesome for others. We received
2 $20 breakfast coupon to used in their restaurant. Don’t expect the
food to be anywhere high quality (food over-cooked and burned) but at
least it’s worth $20 of free food. It’s a nice hotel for the price. |
