On the tumbling slopes of one of Bellevue's older residential neighborhoods, this park combines a lake beach with winding roads and hilly trails. The beach is the focus, with plenty of space for parking (this is the car-loving Eastside, after all), picnics, sand castle building and diving into the water. The leisurely drive through the upper reaches of the park is pleasant, too, with occasional sudden lake views and quiet hiking trails. You'd never know you were five minutes from downtown Bellevue.

Amenities: Swimming, lifeguard on duty late June through Labor Day. Waterfront park featuring two picnic sites suitable for group events or weddings, dock, picnic & play areas, restrooms, handicapped accessible, 18 acres.

Directions: From I-405, take the NE 8th Street exit going west. Turn left onto Bellevue Way. Turn right onto Main Street. Turn left onto 101st Avenue SE. Follow the road as it curves uphill. Chism Park is on the right at SE 11th.

From I-90, take Bellevue Way exit north. Turn left on SE 16th Street. Turn right on 100th Avenue SE. Follow road until it turns into 11th Street.
