Coast Hotel Bellevue

Got a deal for a 2-night stay via priceline bidding - $50 a night. I've been to
this hotel twice before. It used to have decent service and it kept getting
worse. The lobby renovation did not change the service offered. The room was
fine and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was old and the shower wall not
properly cleaned. Complimentary breakfast was a disaster. They did not use to
provide that and I guess they thought this would be a plus. It was so chaotic
with no plates. no cups, no food, no coffee. One of the ladies was trying to
provide as good a service as she could, but her hands were clearly tied. We
didn't bother to get up the next day for the breakfast. Also, both keys stopped
working for the second night and they could not get the keys redone, so we
needed to be let into our room. The location is great and I don't want to sound
too demanding since I paid very little.

I never smelled smoke anywhere on the property

Older Hotel with modern fixtures/decor in lobby and reception Areas.
Nice business center with 1 computer and printer (excellent for boarding passes)
paid 46 a night thru PL and AB Link.
The room itself was fine, it was clean and relatively roomy.
newer carpets and bedding
27" tube tv that worked fine.
Although the room itself was fine, I think I got the "Priceline" room.
Room 234 was the closest room to the 405 freeway and was not in the Secure Part
of the building.
IE: 2 parts of this hotel, secure part has doors that are accessible only with
card keys after certain hours.
The other part is accessible to all at all times, with or without a key card.
I was in the unsecure part, and for me, it was Fine.
EASY access to my car and such.
Free WIRED wi-fi (yes an oxymoron), but it worked well
Free Parking ( very close to my room)
Free Continental Breakfast ( juice coffee tea bagels toast pastries muffins)
The staff were all very nice and they seemed to be at a high occupancy.
Overall I liked the place.
It doesn't beat a Hyatt Place/Most CourtyardMarriotts etc, but its just fine for
a few nights...especially at the great price I got!

You can't go wrong with a $50/night hotel from Priceline. Everything was
wondering, except the bed. The bed was wobbly and the mattress seemed to have a
pillowtop on the top and bottom. It was the most uncomfortable sleep ever, but I
never get good sleeps anyways when I'm on vacation, so it wasn't too much of a
problem for me. Aside from the bad sleep, there was FREE parking, FREE wifi,
FREE breakfast (bagels, muffins, pastries, cereal, coffee, tea, milk) - no eggs,
sausages and the good stuff, FREE red/white wine during weekends from 5 to 6pm.
So many freebies. I was amazed. One more thing, the SINK is outside of the
washroom. The washroom contained a toilet and a shower+tub. Great water pressure
from the shower. The tap pressure on the sink lacked significantly. I was happy.

So, I am very particular about where I stay...but I am also cheap! After doing
my research, I found out that Bellevue is a great suburb with easy access to
Seattle. So I could not go wrong. I also researched all of the 3 star hotels in
Belllevue. I bid on Priceline and got a room for two nights at the Coast
Bellevue for $54.00. After reading the reviews...quite frankly I did not know
what to expect.
When we arrived, I was prepared for the ugly exterior as I had read in other
reviews. The best way to describe it is an old throw back brown "office
building" look from the 70's.
The neighborhood is not bad, I felt safe as I was traveling with a toddler and
my cousin. True: it is on a car lot strip...but they are for the most part very
high end car lots (BMW, Mercedes etc.). But it is also on the fringe (one red
light away) from the upscale living that Bellevue is known for.
The Hotel: Nice lobby, old looking restaurant/furniture. The carpet in the
hallways was old. Old elevator. Popcorn ceiling. Clean common bathrooms on the
first floor. Nice fruit basket in the front with lemon water. Continental
breakfast was good..all u can eat pastries, bagels, juice, tea, cereal, milk,
and coffee.
The Room: The beds are the BOMB!!! New carpet, furniture, bedding etc. They
scrimped on the bathroom upgrades. The fridge and the long chord was hilarious!
They cut corners on the soap (one bar at sink), no trashcan liners, no flat
screen TV, # of towels in the room. The bathroom in my second room (see below)
did smell a little mouldy, but overall a great room!
Bonus Tip: I actually came back for a second time while in the area. Bid the
same day on a room on Priceline and got it a second day for 45.00!!!!!! Can't
beat it... I will be back!
Cons: Don't eat in the restaurant outside of the free continental breakfast! I
made that mistake and spent 11.00 on a sandwich and cup of soup. I should have
hopped over to Whole Foods as they have a vast array of fresh food ranging from
hot and cold items for under 11.00
PS. The second leg of my 8 day trip in Seattle was for business, so I stayed in
a fancy hotel in downtown Seattle... Those beds couldn't hold a candle to the
Coast Bellvue Beds and comfy pillows!!

If you're looking for a place just to sleep, this will do--if not look
elsewhere. Dated with a chain on the door for security--hadn't seen those in
ages. Didn't like the bathroom layout--walked into the room and the sink is
right there--no partition, no separate room. . .the fan in the bathroom is LOUD.
. .and the floor around the toilet looked grungy. . .if not for the bathroom
area--the room itself was nicely decorated, basic, bed was comfortable but high
off the ground. Didn't like that there was quite a gap between the bottom of the
door and the floor. . .my summer sandal slipped right through to the other side.
The location is good though. And actually for the price. . .just to sleep its
okay.

This hotel has a nice lobby, a great location and.....a great location.
The room is very dated, the bed feels like a waterbed and the bathroon fan
sounds like a chopper. The free breakfast is in an equally dated place. There is
ONE computer in the business center but the rooms have free internet access. The
location of the hotel is great as it is very close to Bellevue Square, the
restaruants and the 405.

It's a pleasant hotel, nothing fancy but we'd stay there again. The rooms were
generally basic but clean, the mattresses felt a little old however. |
