Located under the arches near the Space Needle, Pacific Science Center features five buildings of hands-on exhibits that provide educational entertainment for all ages. Equipped with 3D technology, the Boeing IMAX® Theater is the only theater of its kind in the Northwest. Breathtaking images projected onto a six-story tall screen. 12,000 watts of digital sound transport you to worlds you’ve only dreamed of visiting. Come as a group during the day or host a private screening in the evening. Tropical Butterfly House Exotic flora and a tropical climate set the stage for the fluttering and soaring of 1,200 free-flying butterflies in the Tropical Butterfly House. Don’t be surprised if a butterfly lands on your shoulder as you walk along paths in this colorful environment. A warm and tranquil oasis on even the darkest Seattle day. Pacific Science Center began as the United States Science Pavilion during the 1962 Seattle World's Fair. Millions came to explore the wonders of science during the World's Fair and upon closing ceremonies, the Science Pavilion was given new life as the private not-for-profit Pacific Science Center, becoming the first U.S. museum founded as a science and technology center. Location Pacific Science Center is located under the arches near the Space Needle. Daytime entrances are on Denny Way and the main entrance and Will Call are located facing Seattle Center to the north. This is also the only evening entrance. 200 Second Ave. N. Follow the road until you reach Denny Way. Turn RIGHT onto Denny Way. Follow Denny Way for one block and turn RIGHT onto Second Ave. N. Pacific Science Center is on your right. Entrances are located on the north and south sides of the Science Center complex. Parking Pacific Science Center offers parking in its James Albert Claypool Memorial Garage. The three-story garage is located at the corner of Second Avenue North and Denny Way and provides a covered walkway directly into Pacific Science Center's south entrance. http://www.pacsci.org/ |
